Shanessa Jackson provides an integrated suite of strategic communications and business consulting services including strategic planning, research and analysis, web and graphic design, branding, marketing, public relations, advertising, content development, and business support.
Shanessa Jackson has served as a strategic communications consultant for the past 14 years in a variety of roles supporting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as well as many clients in the non-profit and for-profit sectors.
Her clients have included X-Energy Corporation, the Helen Moss Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Merrill Lynch, Paragon TEC, the State University of New Jersey/ Rutgers at Newark, Police Activities League of Texas, Richard Fleischman Architects, the Committee to Elect Alton Tinker, Pixul Fine Art Photography , National Alliance of African American Athletes , Mirage on the Water, the City of Bratenahl, and many others.
For Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies Inc., she has served as Special Assistant to the Deputy Center Director for Research Investments at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as well as providing support to the NASA Headquarters Office of the Chief Technologist. She also previously served as Communications Manager, providing corporate support to the NASA Headquarters Office of Education. In this role she was responsible for stakeholder response development, management of NASA education products, education communications planning and strategy, communications material development, and education campaign/event management. She also served on the Agency-wide Summer of Innovation Project Management Team, Communications Material Review Board, Open Government Team, Launch Guest Operations Team, Women and Girls Initiative, and other national/Agency-wide efforts.
In her previous role at NASA Headquarters through Oklahoma State University, Jackson supported the NASA Educator Astronaut Project.
Prior to joining the Office of Education at NASA Headquarters, Shanessa Jackson supported the Educational Programs Office at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) through BTAS, Inc. From 2000 to 2004, Jackson provided GRC EPO with program management and organization support through multimedia services including website development and administration of nearly a dozen websites, national campaigns, and outreach.
A mathematics major with a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University, Jackson got her start at GRC through Lewis’ Educational and Collaborative Internship Program. Shanessa Jackson is a veteran of Americorps National Service through Americorps Project S.T.R.I.V.E. in Lorain, OH. Her hobbies include writing and film.
